Font - So when I was hired at my company, my direct supervisor was supposed to reach out to me to let me know next steps for my first day, what to bring, things of that nature, etc. Nope.
  • 04
Font - Nothing but radio silence. I was supposed to be contacted two weeks prior. Nothing. Up to about five days before I was supposed to start, still nothing.
  • 05
Font - So I reached out to my direct supervisor. No response. I replied again. No response. I then emailed the person who interviewed me. Nothing. I had to then actually text message somebody else in the company to find out what to do on my very first day. it was actually kind of like that from the beginning. Not much detail as

Font - to exactly where I fit in the company. Well, my time is coming to leave. The company allows you to actually resign online. You don't have to speak to any kind of HR person and have them resign you. So that's

Font - what I did. I resigned. Without telling anybody. Still a week before my actual effective termination date but I am not going back. It Do I even bother telling anybody in person at this point?

Font - Hmm. An online form has to reach someone with the capabilities to terminate your employment. That means the online form reaches someone within the company that works with HR.
  • 10
Font - You have, effectively, informed HR that you're ending your employment with the company. I am assuming there is some sort of corroborating mechanism that ensures there is evidence of your submission.
  • 11
Font - Anything else that you do (whether composing an email to your immediate supervisor, colleagues, etc) is unnecessary, in terms of your disclosure responsibilities. Having said that:
  • 12
Font - 1. If there is no corroboration of your online submission to quit, then send an email in order to have evidence of completing the necessary paperwork. Might not need it, but better save than sorry, for any eventuality.
  • 13
Font - 2. If you have corroboration already, keep in mind that your ex- colleagues are part of your social/business network. A courtesy email wishing them well and saying goodbye is a smart step. Informing your team leader, is also a polite, and prudent, gesture.

Font - Ears_13 22 hr. ago I was at my previous job 3 weeks with one week vacation. My wife was recruited and accepted a job across the country, my first day at a new job.
  • 15
Font - The day after my one week vacation I came in, expecting to talk to my regional director(my direct boss) she was out of town for work so I told the office manager I quit and I emailed my regional director my resignation. Never heard from that company again lol

Font - VirginiaUSA1964 - 23 hr. ago Compliance - PHR/SHRM-CP It's a small world. You never know when someone from this place ends up at a place you work in the future. Always be the bigger, more mature, professional person. It will always benefit you in the end. Playing tit for tat is risky.

Font - Complex_Ad_77089 hr. ago That's one of the biggest red flags about starting a new role. It says a lot about how they're going to take care of you later.

Font - PsychologicalBox2553 1 day ago Your maturity is showing here. Do the above-board thing. If you're still hanging on to what day you were contacted with instructions prior to your employment beginning, and you're legitimately using that as a justification for you to behave poorly - you have some personal growth to a S.
